The Price of Beauty

I regret to share with you, that now, as our spring fundraising campaign comes to a close, we haven’t received what we needed.

I don’t mean to sound so final, because we can still get there.  It’s really up to you.

If everyone reading this message today gives what they can to support OnePeterFive…we will make it. It will take each and every one of you to do your part. Some of you already have done so, and I thank you.

To the rest of you, I invite you to make your gift today.  And as you do, you might think of the great cathedrals.

The masterpieces of Europe, built from the age of Christendom up to the modern age, these glorious expressions of faith, visible for miles around, took the work of thousands upon thousands of people – from humble masons to the most talented and visionary artists to have ever lived. Many of the cathedrals took several centuries to build. Not a lifetime, not generations, but eras!

Imagine being a part of the construction of such a place of worship, a sanctuary for the Blessed Sacrament, an edifice for the spiritual transformation of millions of souls… but one that you would never see complete. Nor would your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren, your great-great-grandchildren.

This is the story of many of these beautiful works of architecture.

OnePeterFive is not a cathedral, but we exist for the glory of God. We strive for, honour, and celebrate beauty.

Also, what we build here will not be fulfilled in a lifetime or several lifetimes. It’s about preparing souls for eternity in heaven with God.

And it takes so many of us to make this mission possible.

It takes everyone to create a mighty work that truly stands apart and is built to last.

We’re doing what we can as writers, editors, scholars, researchers, curators, designers, spiritual advisors, tech leads and more.

We invite you to partner with us, however you are gifted and equipped to do so.

At whatever level you can give, please help us fund our costs, which are real and yet far outweighed by our mission to rebuild Catholic culture and restore Catholic Tradition.

You can help us most with a monthly donation of $10 or $15 or $25 to OnePeterFive. Monthly donations are the most important tool of support for our ongoing operations: they help us to plan and to place our focus on the work, instead of on the funding.

We also welcome generous one-time gifts.

Whatever you can do today will be your unique stone. Your “work” won’t be signed. You will receive my thanks, to be sure, and the prayers of our team, but no credit will be given to take away from how God wants to reward your unseen gift.

Please pray and please join us with your monthly gift, or one-time gift, of any amount – great or small. Whatever you can contribute, it will be needed and put to immediate use.

Thank you in advance for sustaining and growing the mission of OnePeterFive today.
